Series: Glyphs of the Maya – Drawing the Day Signs into Your Life
Key Words: Vision • Goals • Higher Place • Business
Men is the eagle — soaring high above the world, seeing from a greater perspective, and guiding us toward the fulfillment of our vision. It is the energy of lifting your eyes to the horizon, casting your goals into the future, and taking the necessary steps to achieve them.
Men also represents the Creator of the Universe and all that exists in space. It is a day for ambition, business, and the pursuit of prosperity — not only for oneself but for the benefit of the community. This is the energy of the merchant, the entrepreneur, and the one who dares to fly higher to achieve their dreams.
Men days are ideal for:
Asking for money to buy necessary things.
Sacrificing or saving for the future.
Working toward solidarity and unity.
Protecting yourself financially.
Vision casting and setting goals.
Business pursuits and selling things.

drawing the men glyph
The Men glyph reflects the eagle’s sharp vision and the high vantage point from which all paths become clear.
How to draw it:
Draw the inner square and the core or heart of the glyph.
Draw the outer square around it.
Draw the breath scrolls flowing outward — these are the life-force of the glyph. In Maya tradition, the breath scrolls show that the glyph is alive and breathing. Without them, it is only a static image; with them, it becomes a living, breathing presence that can work with you.
A note about these glyph images:The drawings you see here are from my personal grimoire. They are on lined paper because they were created during my own magical practice — each line a record of connection. These glyphs are not copied from printed sources; they were drawn by hand, holding the intention and energy of the day sign itself. Some are simplified slightly so you can draw them more easily, even if you’ve never worked with Maya glyphs before. The simplification does not take away their power — the act of drawing them with intention is what awakens their energy.
As you draw, imagine rising above your challenges and seeing clearly the steps needed to reach your highest goals.
using the glyph’s energy
in your home
Place it in your workspace or office to inspire vision and success.
Keep it near your financial documents to protect and grow your resources.
Hang it in meeting areas where planning and business take place.
on your body
Mark it on your hands before making business deals or presentations.
Wear it on a pendant to stay focused on your goals.
Draw it on your forehead when casting vision or strategizing.
other ways
Carve it into candles for success in business or long-term goals.
Draw it on contracts, proposals, or vision boards to charge them with ambition and clarity.
Write your highest goals, then draw the glyph over them and place them somewhere you will see every day.
awakening the glyph
To call forth Men’s energy:
Sit with the glyph before you.
Inhale deeply, feeling your vision rise like an eagle on the wind.
Exhale with the words Ahaw Men — “Lord Men” — addressing the day god with respect and inviting his guidance toward your highest aims.
In Yucatec Maya, Ahaw means “Lord” and is the proper form of address when speaking directly to the Day Gods.
Repeat three times.
Whisper: “Ahaw Men — lift my vision, guide my steps, and bring my goals into being.”
This unites the image of the glyph, the breath scrolls of life-force, and the sacred name of the day lord, activating Men’s high vision and prosperity energy.
reflection
Men asks: “What is your highest vision, and what will you do to reach it?”
Journal on the long-term goals you hold and the concrete steps you can take to make them real.
Remember, when you draw the glyph, you bring it to life.
