Magic You'll Experience

Where the Path Leads

Journey in Body & Mind

All Inclusive Itinerary

Magic Maya Connection

Your time with us will be filled with connections that bring you into the heart of the world of the Maya people. You'll stay in a Maya village, get to know local families, hear stories of real magic and supernatural jungle guardians, receive a cleansing and healing session from a Maya healer who is the last in his village, learn the ancient art of pottery and see its supernatural connections too, not to mention experiencing the beautiful energy of the cenotes which are portals to Xibalba, the Maya otherworld and exploring ancient ruins that still speak. All things here are tied to spirit and to nature. It is a lovely, peace-filled, magical life!

Your ITINERARY is as follows

DAY 1: Arrive in Puerto Morelos, a fishing village just south of Cancun where you will spend your first night in a quaint hotel on the beach.

Have dinner in our home where you will meet our other retreat guests, have a chance to ask questions, hear fun inspiring stories about your upcoming adventure and get all the details on what's to come.

Day 2: After a lovely breakfast, you'll leave bright and early and head into the heart of the Yucatan.

Have a traditional Maya lunch in the Colonial town of Valladolid

When you arrive in Uayma, you'll settle into your room in a private hacienda in a tiny Maya village.

A pottery class will fill your afternoon at the home and workshop of Emilio, Sergio and their family. They are master potters who still practice their art in the old way, including bringing energy and magic into their work.

You will also hear supernatural stories told by Sergio and his family. Magic is part of everyday life in the Mayalands!

Enjoy a traditional dinner and relax in your hacienda. Laura will answer your questions about Maya culture and magic and tell you some more amazing stories of connection to spirit and nature.

Day 3: After a delicious breakfast in the hacienda, you'll head north to the Maya ruins of Ek Balam where you'll get to climb pyramids, explore ancient rooms, meet the sacred ceiba tree, and feel the energy of the ancients.

Enjoy a traditional lunch with hand made tortillas (super yum!)

Then you'll soak in 2 of the most beautiful, magical cenotes! These are cave pools with crystal clear water filled with natural minerals that will help you relax. The cenotes are sacred places that contain portals to Xibalba, the Maya Underworld! While you are there, Max, who is Laura's partner and your translator for the trip, will show you some beautiful ways to connect with your cenote experiences. He is also cave guide with deep knowledge of the cenote waters. This will truly be a magical time!

Another lovely dinner with savory traditional food, another evening in the hacienda, walk around the pueblo if you wish, and another good night's sleep.

Day 4: After a lovely breakfast in the hacienda, you will head to the tiny village where Don Francisco, our good friend and shaman lives. This is a magical time! You will have a personal, private cleansing and healing session accompanied only by Max who will be your translator and help facilitate your experience. (Francisco speaks only Spanish and Mayan).

While you are not in session with Francisco, you'll have time to meet his family and freely enjoy his very traditional home and garden. There are medicinal plants growing everywhere, fruit trees, pigs and chickens.

When Francisco is finished working one-on-one with everyone, he usually takes time to ask if anyone has any questions. This is a great time to ask anything you like. It can be about plant medicine, life in a Maya village, or of course, questions about aluxes and other spiritual Maya beings!

Lunch will be in a quaint Maya restaurant nearby where you can even help make the hand made tortillas.

Then we will head back to Puerto Morelos where we will have dinner in a favorite local restaurant a block from the beach. Puerto Morelos comes alive when the sun goes down and, if you like, after dinner you can explore this little village, shop for hand made silver jewelry and other goodies, and even stay up late and listen to live music if you want!

You'll spend your last night in the quaint hotel on the beach which is walking distance from the square.

NOTE: If you decide to extend your stay, we are happy to make recommendations for you about where to stay and things to do!

What People are Saying

What People Are Saying

. . . we'll never forget!

This past February my friend and I stayed in Puerto Morelos. We went with Laura to visit some of the less touristy Mayan pyramids and swim in some cenotes. Every place we went was amazing. Meeting a Mayan family in their home was an honor we'll never forget. When we return to the Yucatan we will definitely go with Laura to explore even more fantastic sites. She not only was our guide but also became our friend.

Mary Ann

. . . magic out of the fabric of Mexico!

I became friends with Laura because she was such a good writer. She is also very approachable, and I feel deeply blessed to have seen her in person too. Laura is the most accomplished of my mystical friends. She forges magic out of the fabric of Mexico. She has shown me Mayan sites and cenotes. She helped me discover the Mayan people and I couldn't wait for her book about the sacred side of this people.

Suzette

. . . this is the real deal!

A wonderful, totally sublime experience. Max and Laura’s depth of knowledge about the Mayan people, their innate indigenous worldview and simple lifestyle was shared to our small group in an elegant style. We visited in the village and were able to have individual healings with the village shaman. We swam in cenotes, climbed pyramids at Ek Balam and it was mesmerizing. This is the real deal.

Belle

. . . a surreal experience!

Laura and Max were an absolute pleasure to take an excursion with! Having met Laura before I already knew she was great energy and good people! Laura and Max both took us to some amazing cenotes that offered a very private and surreal experience unlike anything I’ve ever experienced on any excursion before. They both shared with us the history of the Mayan culture and offered a very personal experience unlike any I’ve seen on other excursions in Mexico! I would highly recommend and will be booking with them in the future!
